Update to Joe Walsh's Cancer Journey

Donation protected
I am Joe Walsh's daughter, Nichole Bennett. Many people followed my dad's Journey with his battle of Lung cancer. For those that don't know my dad was diagnosed with cancer in December 2020 and had been fighting through treatments with everything he had despite many hurdles thrown at him. With the heaviest heart I am here to say my dad passed away October 3rd, 2021. During his treatment for Lung cancer we were given the news the cancer had spread to his brain. We all thought we had more time with him than we did but this past week he was admitted to the hospital for feeling very ill. While at the hospital (Thursday) he suffered a seizure which resulted him to be put on a ventilator and sedated to protect his airway. With all hopes and plans to come off the ventilator things turned bad very quickly overnight on Saturday. His blood pressure, heart rate, and temperature dropped and he was not responding to the sedation being lifted nor breathing over the ventilator any longer. We are not certain at this time exactly what happened to cause this.

Despite the many complications and side effects he suffered through, he truly fought his battle with everything he had. His strength he showed is and always will be admirable. As we wished and prayed for more time with him I can now say that his struggle and sickness is over and I thank everyone for always showing support to him and our family... I truly believe that is what kept him to keep fighting as hard as he did. HERE is the previous GoFundMe for those interested in prior stories and updates about his cancer story.

We are asking for those who can to help with any donations to cover costs of arrangements, memorial, and/or celebration of life (more details to come). Anything will help with these costs and will be so much appreciated as this was very unexpected at this time for us.

Also, anything remaining I would like to support my mom, Sue. The past couple months have been a true struggle for my dad resulting in my mom staying home with him to help him at any time he needed and to also take him to every appointment, treatment, and to be with him during his hospital stays. While grieving and navigating this new way of life to her, I hope we all can rally together to show support and give her the time she needs. There will be nothing incoming to support her financially during this time.

I thank everyone for everything this far from the bottom of my heart.

***I am aware it states my husband, Donald Bennett, as a beneficiary. ALL donations will go towards everything in regards to my dads arrangements and any left over to support my mom, Sue. This is only for withdrawal purposes. ***
