Upper McKenzie Volunteer Firefighters
Donation protected
On Monday, September 7th, 2020 Blue River area was ordered to evacuate due to wildfire spread. This fundraiser is to help support the community members affected by this devastating fire and the volunteer fighters who have been using their own funds and resources to help control the damage from the fires. $600 dollars was spent on fuel alone, by just one volunteer crew last night (september 8th). Many people in the community have lost their homes, their livelihoods, firefighters have had to be on the line fighting as their homes have burned down around them. The fire is still active and so many people in the community are volunteering their time and resources to do anything that they can to help. Please share this on social media to help spread awareness. These funds will be donated to the Upper McKenzie Fire Station in hopes of supporting families that are in need as they try to regain ground on their lives, find places to stay and the resources needed to support themselves and their families through this tragedy, and the firefighters risking their lives to protect the people and our community. Anything will help. Thank you for taking the time to give your time and energy in support of these families, people affected by the fires and fighting the fires. All funds will be donated to the Upper Mckenzie Rural Fire Protection District.
