Running a Half Marathon for UHB Haematology Dept.

In May last year, my dad was diagnosed with chronic lymphocytic leukaemia, a rare cancer that affects the blood and bone marrow. It hit our family particularly hard as this is the second time in his life he has been diagnosed with cancer.

Chronic lymphocytic leukaemia is not something that can be cured but managed with treatment. Since his diagnosis he has been with the Haematology department at the Queen Elizabeth Hospital Birmingham having a combination of chemotherapy and targeted medicine and will be under their care for the rest of his life

I would love to give something back to this incredible team by raising some money for the department. Back in 2009 my dad ran the London Marathon in aid of Prostate Cancer Research UK following his diagnosis and recovery from prostate cancer. On the 7th of May, it'll be my turn to do some running. I will be taking part in the Great Birmingham Run, doing a Half Marathon to fundraise for the Haematology Department at the QE.

I’d appreciate any penny or pound you could donate to this amazing team, at an amazing hospital, who are doing so much for people like my dad with blood and bone marrow diseases.

Thank you very much!
