After this time away, we at Habit know that our current equipment won’t cut it for the next-level amount of body hair we’ll be returning to following shelter-in-place... it’s time to break out the big guns. But before we head to Home Depot, let us explain...

Established in 2005, Habit was San Francisco’s first wax-only salon. For 15 years, we’ve been the best in the business for the hair removal needs of the raddest people in the city. We are female owners and estheticians who built this collective from the ground up when nothing of its kind existed; and in all actions, always, we recognize that this collective includes you.

But as a collective of independent contractors, we don’t qualify for government financial support in the forms of SBA and many grants. Rent and utilities are still due, and like many other small businesses, when our salon closed, we lost all of our income.

It’s time to build again.

You all began reaching out to help sustain Habit before the city even recognized the potential impact that Covid-19 would have on our business: respect. We’ve seen our people and their people lose their income, peace and sense of security (but certainly not their body hair).

For each of you that donates, we ask you to nominate a person in your life who could use the type of care and joy that Habit services provide.

Upon re-opening our doors, we will begin drawing names at random to receive a complimentary service with us. We’ll draw one name for each week that the shelter-in-place was mandated...10 weeks = 10 homies, or however long this goes. And we will be there to help the Stella, Steve or Star in your life get their groove back.
