Urgent Fundraiser to Evacuate Laylan (5) and Walid (7)

Please help the AlMadhoun family evacuate their children from Gaza. A colleague of mine in Jordan reached out asking for help evacuating her cousin's children. Their mother, Eman, also hopes to leave, but for now, she and her brother are focused on getting their children to safety as they fear they won’t be able to gather enough funds for everyone. It is maddening that it costs $5,000 per person to evacuate from a war zone through Egypt's border, but that is the reality. The funds will cover the evacuation and some form of resettlement in Egypt. Below is a message from Eman, sharing her story:

Hello, I am Eman from Gaza, a 28-year-old mother of two children, Walid (7) and Layan (5). Since the war started, we’ve lived under constant bombings. Our home was destroyed, and we’ve been displaced five times, searching for safety where there is none. For over 350 days, we’ve struggled with illness, hunger, cold, and contaminated water.

My children are my world. Before the war, they had simple dreams—Walid wanted to finish second grade, and Layan was excited to start kindergarten. Now, they can’t even go to school. The basic necessities like food, water, medicine, and shelter are gone, and diseases are spreading because of the conditions.

This campaign is our last hope to escape this war and reach safety. We need $5,000 per person to survive and start over. Your support means the world to us.
