Hi, my name is Ingrid. I am located in the U.S. I am a friend of Bassam who is organising this campaign for him. I want to assure the donors that 100% of the funds will go to Bassam. Transparency is of the utmost importance to me. I am committed to keeping you updated and letting you see the difference that you are making. This is Bassam's Story:

Hi, my name is Bassam. I am a 23-year-old photojournalist, and my family is facing unimaginable trials. After surviving 212 days of genocide in Gaza. I have been displaced again in Egypt, alone, sick with Hepatitis A and separated from my family of six who have also been displaced five times due to the escalating conflict that is still occurring. My brothers, Ahmad(17), Khaled(15), long to return to school, and my little sister, Batool(8), so young and innocent, deserves to play like other children. Aya(25), was an English teacher before the war and she deserves the chance to continue her dream of teaching.

I live with the constant memory of the siege of Al Nasser Hospital, where I risked my life to document the suffering despite the constant threats from drones, tanks, and quadcopters. Upon knowing that my family was in danger as the occupation forces approached the school where they were seeking refuge in, I rushed to be with them. For five days, we were besieged by the occupation before being forced to evacuate under the threat of bombing.

My parents, Hassan(58) and Siriya(51), as well as my siblings are now living in a makeshift tent constructed from whatever materials they could find at this moment. While also enduring such dire conditions that both of my brothers have contracted Hepatitis A.

Thanks to the grace of God and the generosity of friends, I was able to escape Gaza through fundraising efforts that covered the $5,000 evacuation fee. However, my family remains trapped in perilous conditions, and I’m struggling to raise the funds needed to rescue them.

Recently, my family received news that 20 relatives were martyred in North Gaza, with more still missing, likely under the rubble. Their safety and well-being are constantly under threat, and communication is frequently cut off due to unstable phone networks. I fear every day for my family's lives as they remain in the middle area which is under attack daily. They cannot be forcibly displaced again, as they won't be able to find another tent.

Your donation will be the lifeline they need, offering vital support to escape the danger in the Gaza Strip. The funds will be used to evacuate my family, temporarily secure rent in Egypt and cover financial expenses. I hope that you will stand by my family and I so together we can help bring them to safety. May God bless you for your kindness and generosity. Any amount is appreciated and I am grateful for your contribution.
