Urgent Aid for Paula's Ailing Parents

Hi, my name is Paula Prince. My parents are struggling and are having hard times at this season in their life. My mother fell and broke her hip. She is 81 years old. My dad is 78, and he is also down with a back injury and can barely walk without a walker. He had to help my mom up when she had a dizzy spell and fell. All the while he was helping her up, they were both on the floor, and he was hurting too. My mom has been in the hospital for 12 days, and now she is struggling with her speech. My dad is her full-time caretaker and has been for quite some time now. He has spent every night at the hospital with her.

I live out of town and have visited once a week, and I call the nurses and help with doctor appointments. I do what I can for them from afar, but I can’t always be there. It breaks my heart. My poor brother has done so much for them, and he goes over and above to help them, but currently, my brother doesn’t have work, so it’s hard on all of us watching all this. My sister is also helping them, but she lives on a fixed income. She helps get wood in their home, checks on them, and helps them with the little she has.

It’s going to be a long road ahead, and I am trying to raise funds for a bed rail for mom's bed and food to send to their house after she gets home from the hospital. My mom will need 24-hour care. This hip surgery for her will be a long recovery, and right now, my dad is not able to cook because he has to get better. He has an MRI tomorrow, so we hope and pray he will get stronger and get his back better. Please pray for them. If you can help in the smallest way, we would be so grateful. This will take some burden off my brother. I will see to it that they get deliveries for food and gas for my dad to go back and forth to the doctor. Also, if I raise enough money, I can get my mom a recliner that lifts her up. Thank you all so much. We are thankful that God is protecting them both.
