Thousands of families have been forced to evacuate due to the devastating wildfires raging across California. While relief efforts are underway for human survivors, their pets are also in crisis—injured, lost, and desperate for food, shelter, and medical care. The founder of Cali Canine Companion, Walter James Hart, Jr., wants to help!

At Canine Companions, Ltd., a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization founded in 2001, we are committed to rescuing canines from euthanasia and training them as service companions. Our mission focuses on empowering veterans with PTSD and children with autism spectrum disorder by providing them with service dogs that offer invaluable emotional, mental, and physical support. In response to the current wildfires, we are extending our efforts to assist pets affected by this disaster.
