Recently, Haya’s daughter was hospitalized due to illness.
While she is thankfully feeling better now, the family is still in urgent need of support.
They are struggling to afford healthy food that is essential for her daughter’s recovery.
Every donation helps them access the nutrition and care they need to rebuild their health and lives after losing everything in the war. Your continued support is critical to their healing journey. Thank you for standing with Haya’s family during this incredibly difficult time.
Help the Al-Daba Family Rebuild After War and Destruction
Overview:
The Al-Daba family, once thriving in Gaza, now faces unimaginable hardship. Mr. Muhammad Al-Daba, his wife Haya, and their five children—Qamar (10), Khayal, Abdel Rahim, Hassan, and Khalil (3)—have lost everything in the war. Their home was destroyed on the fifth day of the conflict, forcing them into a tent near the border, struggling to survive without access to basic necessities such as food, clean water, and shelter.
Haya, a dedicated teacher, also worked as a maid and cook to provide for her family, while Muhammad was under contract with USAID. Their lives were improving—Haya had just expanded their home, and her daughter was preparing to compete in a poetry recital at the ministry. But in a single moment, everything was taken from them.
The Current Situation:
Today, the Al-Daba family lives in a tent, exposed to the harsh heat with no reliable access to clean water, proper clothing, or nutritious food. Their children, forced to wear winter clothes in the scorching sun, suffer health issues due to their diet of lentils, beans, and peas—foods that are causing severe allergic reactions for Abdel Rahim and Hassan. The family is in constant search of safety, and medical care is nearly impossible to obtain. Muhammad had to carry his injured son on a cart due to the lack of ambulances and communication networks being down.
Urgent Needs:
The family’s needs are immediate and centered around survival. They require:
Nutritious Food: Fresh fruits, vegetables, and meats to replace the legume-based diet that is worsening the children’s health.
Clothing: Light summer clothes and shoes for the children to replace their worn winter gear.
Healthcare: Medical treatment and medication for the children’s allergies and other pressing health issues.
Shelter and Essentials: Funds to improve their living conditions with access to clean water, hygiene products, and safer shelter.
Transportation: Support to relocate the family to a safer area and cover transportation costs in case of emergencies.
Your generosity will provide life-saving essentials such as:
Nutritious Food: Fresh meals including fruits, vegetables, and meat to improve the children’s health and well-being.
Clothing: Light clothing and shoes suitable for the heat, so the children can find some comfort amidst their suffering.
Healthcare: Access to urgent medical care and medication for the children’s allergies and other health needs.
Shelter and Basic Necessities: Clean water, hygiene products, and support to improve their living situation.
Transportation: Funds for relocating to safety and covering medical transport costs.
Who They Were Before the War:
Before the conflict, the Al-Daba family was full of life, driven by a love for education and the pursuit of a brighter future. Haya was a passionate teacher, studying biology and nurturing her children's love for poetry. Muhammad had a promising career in software engineering with USAID. They had expanded their home, looking forward to watching their children thrive. Now, their focus is on pure survival.
Haya's Willingness to Connect:
Haya speaks excellent English and is willing to connect with donors directly. She’s eager to share more about their story and express their immense gratitude for the help they receive during these unimaginable times.
A Personal Appeal:
The Al-Daba family has lost their home, livelihood, and dreams, but they have not lost hope. They are holding on for the sake of their children, but they desperately need your support to survive. By donating, you can help them secure nutritious food, healthcare, clothing, and the resources they need to rebuild their lives.
Every contribution—no matter the size—will make a tangible impact on their ability to survive and recover. If you’re unable to donate, please consider sharing their story with your network to help spread the word.
Thank you for your compassion, generosity, and willingness to help this family in their time of greatest need.
