Urgent Assistance Needed for our Family After Crash

1 / 2

On the night of January 21, I was returning home with my partner (Nicole, 25) and newborn son (17 days) when a herd of elk suddenly crossed the highway about 100 feet ahead of us. While swerving to avoid them, they ran into the side of the car causing the car to roll 5-10 times. The result of the crash was horrific. I was ejected from the vehicle and had to extract my partner and child through the windshield.

My son was blessedly saved by his car seat and was untouched. I was lucky enough to survive with moderate injuries, but Nicole is in desperate shape. She suffered multiple major fractures to her pelvis, multiple fractures in her face and jaw, and blood clots on each side of her heart, lungs, and pelvis. On the 22nd, she underwent a dangerous operation to remove the blood clots directly from her heart. Her chance of dying from this surgery was extremely high. Fortunately, she survived, and they were able to remove a large portion of the blood clots and stabilize her blood pressure. She has more of these surgeries planned in the coming days.

Nicole has a hefty road to recovery and will not be able to have any part in caring for her son for at least two months. Sadly, we live across the country from our families and do not have any assistance.

Just before the crash, we were already experiencing terrible luck in life.

The day before the accident, our water and septic flooded our cabin and with the temps consistently below zero, remediation is difficult in a timely fashion.

On top of that, our other vehicle’s engine blew the morning of the crash. We sold it and took the rest of my money out of the bank to purchase a new vehicle. Fast forward post crash: the envelope with my money is nowhere to be found.

I am not one to ask for handouts, but we find ourselves in an impossible situation, and we really could use your help.

With the current situation, I will be the sole caretaker of my son for the next couple of months. Inevitably, I will be unable to work during this time to support my family.

We need to resolve each of the following goals as soon as possible.

-Securing a vehicle

-Purchasing new car seat

-Obtaining temporary residence that can accommodate my son, my dogs, and myself to be close to mom while she is in recovery.

-Most important, obtaining financial stability for the next couple months to support my family through this time. I will need to buy a consistent amount of formula, diapers, and wipes as well as food for myself and my dogs along with all the other expenses that come with day-to-day life.

I am always the one to push through and remedy any tough situation life puts me in without hesitation. However, with no car or financial stability, we really need some outside assistance. I greatly appreciate any and all donations to our family and your kindness and generosity will not go unrecognized.

Thank you so much.
