Urgent Appeal, A Mother and Son's Path to Safety

Donation protected
I’m reaching out in an incredibly difficult time, and I need your help. My name is Cheryl, and I am currently in the UK on my husband’s ancestral visa with our young son. Unfortunately, my life has been turned upside down due to the breakdown of our marriage. My husband has entered into a marital affair, which led him to inform the Home Office about our separation. As a result, I have been notified that my visa has been cancelled, and I must leave the UK by 9th December.

Throughout our time together, my husband has subjected me to emotional, verbal, and financial abuse. His constant drinking and erratic behaviour have created a volatile environment that has taken a significant toll on my mental health and well-being. I live in constant stress and anxiety, fearing for our safety and future. I can see the emotional strain this situation has placed on my son as well, as he is affected by the chaos and instability around us.

Due to my husband's financial abuse, I have no savings or means to support myself or my son. My husband has made it clear that he does not wish to take responsibility for our son, and this has left me to bear the burden of ensuring our well-being as we prepare to return to South Africa.

I am desperately seeking help to raise funds for our urgent needs, including:

  • Two Tickets to South Africa: The cost of flights for my son and me.
  • Transport to and from the Airport: To ensure we can get to the airport safely and on time.
  • Basic Necessities: Money for food and toiletries once we are back in South Africa.
  • Rent: Assistance with rent, as I currently have no money to my name.

I never imagined that I would find myself in such a vulnerable position, but I have no other choice. My main concern is the well-being of my son, and I am determined to provide him with a stable, safe environment as we try to rebuild our lives away from the abuse we’ve faced.

Any support, whether it’s through a donation or simply sharing our story, will make a world of difference to us during this challenging time. Your kindness and generosity will give us the chance to start over and find a path to safety and peace.

Thank you for taking the time to read our story and for any help you can offer. If anyone wants updates or information, please reach out.

With deep gratitude,
Cheryl
