Urgent Appeal for Flood Relief in Sindh, Pakistan
Donation protected
Friends,
Over the past few weeks, excessive and unprecedented rainfall has inundated our ancestral village (https://goo.gl/maps/Si3nuvTmGS9ah4np7) between the districts of Shikarpur and Jacobobad in the Province of Sindh.
As a result, all arable land for rice cultivation has become submerged. This has led to the loss of livelihoods for tens of thousands. In addition, the flooding that has ensued has destroyed homes, with thousands currently displaced and in need of shelter with a high risk of contracting water-borne diseases (Cholera, Malaria, and Dengue Fever).
As a result, there is an urgent need to provide temporary housing (tents) and medical supplies to prevent further loss of life from disease to the 1500 displaced people in the affected zones shown below.
We will lead the relief efforts in the regions shown below over the following months focusing on providing shelter, food, and preventative medical care.
Please provide whatever assistance you can! All contributions will be matched by us and will go a long way, however small or big you might think.
Respectfully,
