Harbor of Hope: Help me Evacuate my Family

Greetings, may peace and blessings be upon everyone reading this message. My name is Naji Altayib, a Palestinian from Gaza currently residing in Canada. I work as a warehouse associate and for the last 3 months I have been working 2 full-time jobs to help my family and neighbors and those in need, however, my body has begun to fail me and I can no longer provide as much help as before. I created this campaign to reach out to all compassionate donors, tohelp me provide shelter and food, and to support the people of my village, ALSUDANIA, situated in the northern part of Gaza, along with my family who currently reside in Jabalia.

ALSUDANIA, once a picturesque area with vibrant streets, was the first to experience the devastating impact of war in Gaza. The village, adorned with wide streets, used to be full of life. Citizens would stroll to the sea, exercise, or simply enjoy the fresh air during power outages in the summer.

My father, a humble and dedicated man, built our family home in ALSUDANIA in 2013. The house, a symbol of his hard work and aspirations, resembled a castle, embodying his dream of a lasting home. However, in 2014, during a war in Gaza, our home was destroyed by an Israeli bomb. In an instant, everything my father had invested in his first house was reduced to rubble. The memories, pictures, and moments we cherished were lost forever.

Following a ceasefire after 52 days of war, we were fortunate to have our house rebuilt in 2015, but the second house could never replace the first. Despite this, my father was grateful for a second chance to build a new home, hoping it would be his final sanctuary.

Tragically, dreams in Gaza are elusive, and even when they materialize, they are often short-lived. The recent conflict left ALSUDANIA in ruins, with houses, streets, and memories reduced to ashes. My father's second house, along with those of fellow villagers, was annihilated, leaving them with nothing.

The villagers fled to the south in Rafah, seeking refuge from bombings in what was presumed to be a safe zone. However, many remain without shelter or food, having been unable to work for 105 days. The exorbitant cost of living in Gaza has left them unable to afford basic necessities.

To understand the situation more in Gaza I reached out to my neighbor, who used to live in the same area and she told me that she is looking for a camp, expressing that she requires one to shelter her and her family. She told me it would cost her 2500 shekels, to buy one, and since her family and she haven't been working for 110 days, it's impossible for them to afford one.

So here's a glimpse of the current situation in Gaza:

-The cost of a tent is nearly 2500 shekels, approximately 680 USD.

-A bag of wheat, essential for sustenance, costs 170 shekels, equivalent to 50 USD.

Gas, crucial for cooking and warmth, comes at a steep price of 600 shekels, around 170 USD.

The villagers are in dire need of shelter and sustenance.

I have initiated this campaign to provide 2 families with tents for shelter and money to buy food to survive.

The least we can do is offer them hope, support, and the belief that people worldwide care about their suffering and are willing to protect and save them.

Along with these 2 families from my neighborhood, my beloved grandparents, uncles, aunts, and their kids all live in Jabalia an area in desperate need of food and resources for more than 3 months they have been suffering with barely enough food and water to survive, my grandparent's house recently has 10 families living in the same household which makes them 40 persons in one household.

6 of whom are elders and in desperate need of medication for they all have diabetes and/or high blood pressure, especially my beloved grandmother who suffers from a heart issue.

10 adults who are all fathers and mothers ages 32-48.

In conclusion, all funds will be spent:

I am deeply sorry for asking for a great amount of money however, the situation in Gaza is unexplainable nor imaginable and I am begging for help. Every day that goes by is worse than the day before living in Gaza has become impossible and full of uncertainties, the least we can do is help those who are truly in need.
