Urgent Appeal for Support: Help a photographer
Donation protected
I am Mahdy Zourob, a passionate photographer from Gaza. My life has been greatly affected by the genocide war waged by the occupation on Gaza. Since the beginning of the war, I have lost many friends and acquaintances, as well as my job, which was my source of livelihood.
I had a big dream and was striving to achieve it despite all the difficulties, until the war stole it from me. I loved photographing food, cars, people, and everything beautiful in Gaza. I lost my father 23 years ago and my mother 13 years ago, but despite everything, I remained committed to my dream.
With the ongoing displacement, I am just trying to survive. After the invasion of Rafah, I lost my home there, and my family and I sought safety in Mawasi, but the shelling followed us. When artillery shells landed near us, we were forced to flee again to Khan Younis, where we now live in a tent under harsh conditions.
Today, I live with my older brother’s family after losing my parents, and I am trying to find an opportunity to keep going. Everything in Gaza is at risk of vanishing, even the simplest dreams. The funds I am seeking your support for will help me rebuild a new life after everything I lost.
I have not been able to travel until now because the crossing is closed, and I continue to face difficulties leaving Gaza due to the current circumstances.
I hope to find the support that will help me continue my journey in photography and live under a safe roof like any other human being. It is just an ordinary life and simple dreams—nothing more, nothing less.
With all love and gratitude,
