Help my family survive the war in Gaza.

Hello,

I am Shahed Khalifa, a 20-year-old woman from Rafah. Currently, I am the sole provider for my family of seven. I was a first-year student, studying Information Systems at Al-Aqsa University. As you may already know, my home country of Palestine is currently facing genocide. My school and every university in the country have been attacked and destroyed due to Israel’s continuous bombardment. The hope of building a bright future was within reach until war struck like a destructive storm, shattering everything, not only my university but my dreams as well.

Months ago, my family and I—my parents, my sister Nour (25), brother Anas (22), sister Iman (16), and sister Heba (10)—were forced to flee our home in Rafah due to the escalating dangerous conditions. Recently, we received the devastating news that our home had been bombed and completely destroyed in Rafah. This news came to us while we are living in a small, cramped nylon tent that we share. Our current living conditions are unfit for survival, especially as my younger siblings grow up. Moreover, with winter fast approaching, our situation is becoming even more dire.

We are in desperate need of your help. There is very little food available in Gaza, and my siblings are extremely hungry. I rely on donations to feed my family and survive the winter months. We need to escape Gaza to find a safer and better life for us. I also need to continue my education in order to be able to support my family in the years to come.

This is a plea for help. We are in urgent need. As the war continues, we need funds to survive on a daily basis and to plan our escape. You can be a partner in helping rebuild our lives and achieving our family’s collective dream of freedom and safety.

أنا شهد خليفة، شابة في العشرين من عمري من رفح. حالياً، أنا المعيلة الوحيدة لعائلتي المكونة من سبعة أفراد. كنت طالبة في السنة الأولى في تخصص نظم المعلومات في جامعة الأقصى. كما تعلمون، وطننا فلسطين يواجه حالياً إبادة جماعية. تعرضت مدرستي وكل الجامعات في البلاد للهجوم والتدمير نتيجة القصف المتواصل من إسرائيل. كانت آمال بناء مستقبل مشرق في متناول اليد، حتى جاءت الحرب كعاصفة مدمرة، حطمت كل شيء، ليس فقط جامعتي بل أحلامي أيضاً.

منذ عدة أشهر، أجبرت أنا وعائلتي—والديّ، أختي نور (25 عاماً)، أخي أنس (22 عاماً)، أختي إيمان (16 عاماً)، وأختي هبة (10 أعوام)—على الفرار من منزلنا في رفح بسبب الظروف الخطيرة المتصاعدة. ومؤخراً، تلقينا الخبر المدمر بأن منزلنا تم قصفه وتدميره بالكامل في رفح. جاءنا هذا الخبر بينما نعيش في خيمة صغيرة ومكتظة من النايلون التي نتشاركها. ظروفنا الحالية غير صالحة للعيش، خاصة مع نمو إخوتي الأصغر سناً. ومع اقتراب فصل الشتاء، تزداد معاناتنا أكثر.

نحن في حاجة ماسة إلى مساعدتكم. الطعام في غزة نادر جداً، وإخوتي يعانون من الجوع الشديد. أعتمد على التبرعات لإطعام عائلتي والبقاء على قيد الحياة خلال أشهر الشتاء. نحن بحاجة إلى الهروب من غزة للبحث عن حياة أكثر أماناً وأفضل لنا. كما أنني بحاجة إلى متابعة دراستي كي أتمكن من إعالة عائلتي في السنوات القادمة.

هذه نداء للمساعدة. نحن في حاجة ماسة. مع استمرار الحرب، نحتاج إلى الأموال للبقاء على قيد الحياة يومياً ولتدبير خطة للهروب. يمكنكم أن تكونوا شركاء في إعادة بناء حياتنا وتحقيق حلم عائلتنا المشترك في الحصول على الحرية والأمان.
