Urgent Appeal: Save Heba, Ahmed and Amal from Gaza
Donation protected
Dear Friends and Supporters,
My name is Wasim Abuzaher, a proud Canadian from Clarington, ON and I urgently appeal to your generosity and compassion to help our beloved sister Heba Abuzaher, her husband Ahmed Murtaja, and their precious 2-year-old daughter Amal Murtaja who are currently facing the devastating impacts of the war in Gaza.
Heba, a dedicated teacher, and Ahmed, a hardworking provider, had built a life together before the war disrupted their dreams. Heba, having completed a Teaching of English as a Foreign Language program at the University of Arizona, returned to Gaza to contribute to her community. She passionately taught English to middle school students who adored her.
Tragically, their home and hopes were shattered when the war erupted in October 2023. Forced to move from one shelter to another in search of safety, they now find themselves displaced to Zawayda with limited access to essential resources such as food, water, heat, and electricity.
Despite these challenges, Heba and Ahmed have applied for temporary immigration to Canada under extended family measures for Canadians in Gaza. While the Canadian government offers a lifeline, they do not cover the flight and resettlement costs for qualified individuals. This leaves our small family struggling, having lost their homes and life savings during the bombardment.
How will the money be used:
We are reaching out to you, our community, to rally support for Heba, Ahmed, and Amal. Your contributions will make a significant difference in covering the expenses of their journey to Canada and the initial resettlement period. Let's come together and provide them with the support they desperately need to rebuild their lives.
Your generosity will not only help secure a safer future for this family but also restore their faith in the possibility of a brighter tomorrow. Every donation, no matter the size, will contribute to a hopeful chapter in their lives after the harrowing experiences they've endured.
Thank you for being a beacon of hope and support during these challenging times.
With gratitude,
Organizer
