URGENT APPEAL .. Rawan Family From Gaza

I feel I need to share my story because I truly need everyone’s help. My family is trapped in northern Gaza, and I live far from them with my kids husband, and his family, all together in one place. I’m trying to gather money to help both my family and my husband’s family. If the border opens, they will be able to escape to Egypt, where they can finally feel safe and begin a new life from scratch.

My family includes 6 members my mother, my father , 2 brothers and 2 sisters. I’ll share a photo of them before the war when they were living a good, dignified life. Now, because of the war my mother’s health is in very poor condition. She urgently needs regular treatment and continuous medical check-ups due to complications from the war, including issues with her eyes and ears. Here are some of her test results .

The Loss of a Pillar

Our father, the bedrock of our family, endured long, painful years battling kidney failure and Hepatitis C. His strength waned, but his love for us never did. His passing left a void that seemed insurmountable, a wound in our hearts that time struggles to heal.

The Breadwinner’s Burden

As the only breadwinner left, I faced the monumental task of holding our family together. But the war took everything from us—our home, my job, our family house, and our entire life savings. In the span of mere moments, our lives were upended, and we were left with nothing but the clothes on our backs and the memories of what once was.

The Innocence Lost

My two children, once filled with laughter and dreams, now bear the scars of trauma. Since October 7, they have been out of school, their education and social lives halted abruptly. They lost their toys, their friends, and, most heartbreakingly, their innocence. They are in dire need of psychiatric and physical help to cope with the nightmares of this war.

The Weight of Illness

My mother, a pillar of strength, now battles her own chronic illnesses. She suffers from diabetes, high blood pressure, and newly diagnosed heart arrhythmia. Her health is fragile, and she requires regular treatment. The stress and anxiety of our situation only exacerbate her condition, and I strive to shield her from the news of further losses and the horrors that come too close to home.

The Challenge of Education

Our family’s struggle extends beyond immediate survival. My siblings, whose educational journeys were abruptly interrupted, are left with unfinished chapters in their lives. Their dreams of education are on hold, and the path to completing their schooling is fraught with obstacles. Supporting their education while managing the needs of our other family members is a monumental task.

Clinging to Hope

In the face of such overwhelming adversity, we cling to the hope that we will find a way to rebuild our lives. Our days are filled with small acts of resilience—finding moments of normalcy, seeking out medical help, and trying to create a sense of safety for our children.

Our family stands at a crossroads, caught between the urgent need to care for our immediate needs and the desire to rebuild our shattered lives. We reach out to the world with a heartfelt plea for support and action. We need assistance to:

Rebuild Our Lives: Help us find resources to regain our footing and rebuild our homes and livelihoods.

Support Our Children: Provide psychological and physical help for our children, and resources to re-enter their education.

Continue Education for Siblings: Assist in facilitating the education of my siblings, so they can complete their schooling and achieve their dreams.

Aid in Medical Care: Support my mother’s medical needs and help us manage her chronic conditions with the necessary treatment and care.
