Update:

Hello Everyone. We wanted to share an update on Grammy. As of right now, she is stable and still in the hospital. The doctors are giving her a medication to help strengthen the heart enough so that she is able to travel to the states. Unfortunately, both the heart surgery and device that she needs to live can’t be performed in the Bahamas. The next 48 hours are extremely critical. We still remain hopeful & appreciate your prayers. We will share more updates as they come.

With love,
The Sweeting family

The Family wants to start out by thanking you for your continued love and support of our beloved matriarch, Andrea Sweeting. Because of your prayers from her caring village, we have been able to see a wonderful recovery. We, the family of Andrea Sweeting, come to you on her behalf, as our mother, sister, grandmother, and friend is facing yet again more medical complications.

Shortly after Christmas Day, Andrea was having pains in her chest, and it became very difficult for her to make out proper sentences as she was suffering from shortness of breath. She decided to visit her personal doctor on December 28th. Later that morning, her family received a call that she would need to be admitted to the ER as she was facing issues with her lungs.

Once admitted, we learned she was suffering from effusion as fluid surrounded her lungs. The fluid would be drained, and she was treated and released on January 1st, 2023. The family was happy to have her home to spend the New Year, not knowing she would become very weak and labored with breathing once again, which was more severe this time. She visited her heart doctor, who would advise her heart and kidneys were weak and failing.

She was admitted back to the hospital on Jan 11th, 2023. During this second visit in 2 weeks, she has been administered medications for her heart, lungs, and kidneys. After being discharged, Andrea was re admitted to the hospital as of the morning of January 23,2023. The doctors have seen a huge recovery (wow, she is a fighter), but she has a huge lifestyle change to assist in her full recovery. Andrea is not insured like most of our elderly in the Bahamian society, and her family continues to do their best to support her ongoing mounting medical bills.

We humbly come seeking your support and assistance with donations to assist with her ongoing medical bills. Any amount would be greatly appreciated as we come together to support our beloved Andrea.

Many may know, Andrea was admitted to the ICU in 2019 due to stroke and congestive heart failure. Our family was happy to see the recovery and progress of Andrea. She quickly found her active role back in the Bahamian society. Though our faith has never waivered, we are now faced with another challenge as we help to get her strong.
