Urgent Assistance Needed for Art's Recovery

Hello, I'm Jessica and I'm raising funds for my ex-husband, Art.

Art was a hard-working father of three until a slip and fall in early March 2024.

As his foot swelled, he continued to work. Since he is a type 1 diabetic, the swelling caused friction in his shoe, which developed into a severe infection.

Art was admitted to the hospital on March 18th. He was septic and had a severe bone infection. Over 2 weeks and two surgeries later he was discharged only to have to return 2 weeks later with a ruptured Achilles. He had a wound vac for nearly 8 weeks and was on IV antibiotics until May.

As of today, he has MRSA in his bone and the skin has still not closed over the wound on his heel. His Achilles is completely detached. He again receives daily IV antibiotics and thrice weekly dressing changes to try and save his foot.

He is unable to work and all funds have been depleted at this time. He is in desperate need of help. He has applied for disability and unemployment. These things take time that he does not have right now. He needs assistance with rent, utilities and most importantly, to keep his health insurance current so he can continue to receive treatment.
