Urgent Assistance Needed for our fellow XGO, Laura Jean Kalin Saving from Financial Crisis

This is a personal note from Laura Jean Kalin.

Dear EX GO Friends and Family,

I need your help and support during a difficult time in my life. I'm reaching out to you all because I don't have any immediate family apart from my daughter, and sharing this personal information is not easy for me.

Here's a brief background: After working at Club Med, I returned to the USA and eventually started a family. However, over the years, I realized that my husband was not the person I thought he was. Despite our struggles, I focused on being a stay-at-home mom while he traveled for work.

In November 2021, my husband informed me about a job opportunity in Texas, closer to his company's headquarters. Although I had concerns about uprooting our lives, we decided to make the move due to the supposed benefits. We sold our home and settled in a small town in East Texas.

In March 2022, my husband left for a business trip and never returned. He abandoned my daughter and me, emptying our bank account and providing no financial assistance or support. All the bills are in his name, and I lack the authorization to make changes or remove my name. I'm working as a Substitute Teacher, but it's not enough to cover expenses.

I've tried to track down my husband over the past 14 months, but it's become evident that the move to Texas was a calculated attempt to isolate us and leave us in a vulnerable position. I'm now unable to sell the house because his presence is required at the closing.

I need to consult with an attorney to pursue a divorce based on abandonment, but it's a significant financial burden for me. The initial consultation alone costs $350, and my monthly income is only around $700. Additionally, I'll have no income during the summer break until school resumes in August. As of today, I’m down to my last $18.75. Yes, you read that correctly Eighteen dollars, As a Mom it’s a very scary and sickening feeling not to be able to take care of your child and pay bills.

In summary, I'm humbly asking for your support through a GO FUND ME campaign. Your contributions will help me navigate the divorce proceedings and resolve this situation. Once everything is settled, I can sell the house and break free from this toxic relationship.
