Urgent Assistance Needed for Valentyna's Funeral a
Donation protected
Hello everyone,
My name is Hadas, and I want to share the story of a remarkable woman, Valentyna Onushko, who has touched the hearts of everyone in our community.
Valentyna was a 90-year-old woman who fled the war in Ukraine and found solace and purpose at our food hub in Battersea. Despite not speaking English, she volunteered tirelessly, forming deep and lasting friendships with me and many others. Her infectious smile and unwavering spirit brought light and hope to our lives.
Valentyna was also a keen volunteer for the British Heart Foundation, and she dedicated her time to its Wimbledon charity shop for two and a half years.
Tragically, Valentyna recently passed away, and her family is now facing the difficult task of repatriating her remains to Ukraine. This process is not only emotionally challenging but also financially burdensome. Valentyna's family urgently needs assistance to cover the costs of her funeral and repatriation.
We are reaching out to you, our compassionate and generous community, to help Valentyna's family during this difficult time. Any contribution, no matter how small, will make a significant difference in ensuring Valentyna can return home to Ukraine and be laid to rest with dignity.
Please join us in honoring Valentyna's memory and supporting her family's urgent needs. Your kindness and generosity will be forever appreciated.
Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
Warm regards, Hadas and the Zero Waste Food Hub Community
Mr. Alex Valentine, son of Valentyna, will be responsible for all funds raised.
