Urgent call for help to pay for vet care in Taber!

As many of you heard there was an absolutely incredible story that occurred here in Taber yesterday. A local man had been out walking his two Akita dogs, Hero and Tora, when he became lodged in mud up to his hips. He was unable to free himself from the mud and was stuck in a remote location on the edge of town for two days. Yesterday, another local man was walking his dog, Jack, in the area. The trapped man’s dog Hero, who had remained with him the entire two days, was acting to protect his owner and ended up injuring the other dog and his owner who tried to intervene. As a result, emergency services were contacted and the trapped man was discovered! This was truly a story that amazed us all! If not for this man walking his own dog, and unfortunately being caught in the crossfire of an extremely loyal and stressed dog protecting his owner, the trapped man may have not been found at all! This is truly a miraculous story on all accounts.

Due to these extraordinary circumstances the Taber Lost Paws Society is currently raising funds. For all parties involved to care for vet costs. Jack was taken taken to the vet with some serious injuries and as well “Hero’s” sister Tora was also taken to vet immediately as it was thought her leg was broken. Turns out her leg had been previously broken and she has a rod in her leg. The screws on the rod have become loose, likely due to Tora, frantically running between the place her owner was trapped and her residence. None of the dogs involved in this incident are at fault and all humans were victims of highly unfortunate circumstances! Just to let everyone know all dogs and humans are doing okay but we really just wanted to do what we can to support all affected by this!
