The Lebanese Committee to Save Tyre (CLST), founded in 1981 by Dr. Maha El Khalil Chalabi, is a longstanding advocate for cultural heritage preservation and community empowerment. As a UNESCO partner for over 40 years, CLST has worked tirelessly to protect Tyre’s unique legacy while addressing the pressing humanitarian needs of the region.

Les Ateliers de Tyr: A Beacon of Hope

Established in 2017 by CLST, Les Ateliers de Tyr became a vibrant hub for artisans, women, youth, and individuals with special needs. These workshops have empowered countless people, fostering traditional craftsmanship, providing training, and creating income-generating opportunities for communities heavily impacted by Lebanon’s ongoing challenges.

Devastation Amid Crisis

The recent war on Lebanon has brought unimaginable destruction, including significant damage to Les Ateliers de Tyr. This once-thriving center for skill development and cultural preservation now stands in disrepair, threatening the livelihoods of artisans and halting vital community initiatives.
