Urgent Car Repair Funds for Monica and Joshua

Hi, Monica and Joshua here, and we are fundraising to get our car repaired. This may not seem like something worth donating to, but please give me a moment to explain why it is so desperately needed and why this is an absolute emergency.

Monica is 100% disabled with a severe case of Ehlers-Danlos Syndrome and attends doctors appointments on the average of 8-10 times a month. This isn't counting labs/scans/testing/etc. She has to attend these appointments to keep her health up, as her body keeps degenerating, which is causing major concerns with her functioning. Because of the nature of her disorders, and the severity, many of these appointments are out of state.

Joshua works in a job in which he has to report to the office one week a month, and on the other weeks he has to go in 2x a week. He is also the person who does food runs for the house, on top of work and medical emergencies.

2 weeks ago, the car started making some really distressing noises. We contacted mechanics to see about working on the car and got run arounds left and right. (According to the local Facebook group this is common in the area). We have had to keep using the car for local runs (food/local doctors), while continuing to look for a mechanic, but today the car started shaking so badly it is no longer safe to be on the road.

We live in a very rural area, where the local grocery store is a 20 minute drive. There are no programs to help us, as we are not vets or over 60. A taxi will be 25.00 one way to the store. We just dont have the ability to keep that up.

Right now we have no idea how much the repairs are going to be, as we are unsure how much work needs to be done. We are asking for $5000.00 to hopefully be able to cover the work that needs to be done. We do have other venues to accept payments if you prefer. Also, we can talk to the mechanic when Josh finds one yo see if they are willing to accept direct payments if possible.

We will be 100% transparent and post receipts for work done, will provide the mechanics business name once we get one to fit us in (and not charge 5k to replace breaks, which is what one quoted), and offer other proof that your money is going to help fix our vehicle.
