Urgent Care for Hanson, Our Foster Hero

Help Hanson, our foster hero, get urgent surgery!
Hanson came to us with his two siblings at only two days old.
He came to our rescue as a foster from another local animal shelter and fought a hard uphill battle for most of his young life.
Tragically, all three kittens had severe injuries to one of their legs, causing the legs to self amputate. Sadly, his two siblings were unable to recover and passed away, but Hansen was strong and continue to fight.
We worked around the clock to keep infection at bay and fought relentless battle against feeding kitten syndrome.
Luckily, our boy made it and was a “foster fail” and was officially adopted by us.
Though, Hansen overcame all of his problems in his early days, the jury was out as to whether he would full surgical amputation of what remained of his limb.
Hansen is now nine months 9 months old and unfortunately it was discovered that the way the leg is now will continue to cause him pain for the rest of his life.
Recently, Hansen injured his stub, and as you can see in the x-ray, the bone is broken and precariously close to poking through the skin and causing him a lot of pain.
The light at the end of the tunnel, is that the stump can be surgically removed, and fully amputated. This is absolutely necessary for his quality of life.
Due to the nature of the break in the remaining stump, vets are advising we complete this amputation as soon as possible.
Hansen is not only a member of the family, but he is a critical part and what we do with neonate kitten rescue. Hanson is a fantastic foster daddy. He helps groom, socialize, and provides warmth and comfort to all of our newborn bottle kittens.
Any help would be so deeply appreciated to help our boy get the surgery he desperately needs.
