Urgent Care for Riker: Tracy Needs Your Help

Riker and his mom, Tracy, are getting through a very scary and difficult emergency vet visit and 2 night stay. Adding an additional night at his follow up.

Riker is a 1.5-year-old rescue dog who is deeply loved by Tracy. She rushed Riker to the vet due to symptoms of an obstruction. Tracy has been diligent in removing toys and stuffies from her home, so she is not sure where Riker found what they took out of his intestines.

When the doctors went in to remove the obstruction, they found that he had perforated intestines which were leaking into his abdomen. They had to remove intestines and reattach what was left to his stomach.

Riker had an unexpected condition which complicated matters. He has intestinal anastomosis. Additionally, his blood pressure was very low, on top of a fever, and he went into sepsis.

He was transferred to Partner Veterinary ER, who will be continuing to care for Riker. He spent the night in the ICU. Riker has been wrapped up in warming blankets, is receiving fluids, along with medication and regular bloodwork. He had to have a feeding tube put in so he is able to get the necessary nutrients.

As they continued, he needed a blood typing and plasma transfusion, which was their Hail Mary to help Riker make it through this.

Until he is released, Tracy is spending $4,000 a day for his time in the emergency vet's care. Your funds will help pay Riker's vet bill.

Tracy is a fabulous single dog mom. She also has two awesome labs. She has been a wonderful foster for so many dogs in need. She works two jobs and this vet bill has impacted her life in huge ways.
