FIP Diagnosis, Urgent Care Funds for Gibby

Donation protected
**UPDATE 5** Gibby is responding well to treatment. Thank god! Thank you all for the donations. I have increased the donation goal just a little to account for all the gadgets and gizmos to help his treatment after being discharged from the hospital. He will need to be monitored closely for the next 12 weeks of treatment. The new goal includes items such as: thermometers, scales, pill holders, wipes, gloves, cameras to help monitor his eating at the food bowl and his urine in the litter box, new diet items to increase his lack of appetite, sedatives to help relive stress, and organizers to help facilitate smooth transition during his treatment.

His fever two days on the medicine has gone down from 104 to 102, maintaining at 102 and not rising. We are hoping to be on the path towards removing the fluid in his chest. Thankfully, it is seemingly going very well. He has recovered his energy, eating, using the bathroom, and we had a quick checkup today at the hospital and they said everything looks fantastic. So cheers to Gibby and we can only pray the next 12 weeks will go swimmingly.

I will continue to update this thread for any updates, but hopefully only good news from now on. No news is good news! Again, thank you all for saving my baby boy’s life. I could not have made it through this without your support.

**UPDATE 4** Gibby has been seemingly diagnosed with FIP. He has begun treatment at the hospital and hopefully we will seen improvements by tomorrow morning. From the bottom of my heart, thank you all for the donations for my baby boy. I really hope this treatment serves him well, and we will have him home soon.

**UPDATE 3** — Morning of January 6th: Gibby’s currently entering the final stages of screening for his fever. He has a reduced fever from 104 to 102 but still running warm. Still undisclosed on what is making his fever rise. He is headed to be tested for the fluid in his chest. If the fluid is tested to be fatal for his heart, he will need to be screened by a radiologist. The narrowed down options, with treatment, are looking to be: An infection, FIP, or heart conditions. We are unsure of what it is still. Today’s test will finally give us some answers. But we are approaching some steep margins with payment for his treatment because this is such a rare and strange case.

**UPDATE 2** Gibby is currently in the hospital for treatment of a fever of unknown origin. They are running tests. He has free flowing fluid in his abdomen. There is high suspicion he might have a rare disease called FIP which can lead to thousands of more dollars of injections and treatments that are not covered by the hospital. But we are currently awaiting results on his treatment to his abdomen. Updates will be posted concurrently into this form. Thank you all for the donations for my beautiful boy so far.

**UPDATE** Gibby is having fatal abdomen conditions and needs to be treated ASAP. Please donate. We need $3000 to admit him into hospital care.

I hate having to post something like this. My little baby Gibby has not even reached one year of age yet, and unfortunately this is common in younger male cats. Gibby is currently struggling with an inflamed urinary tract and a fever of 104. The donations and goals are for him to be seen by a doctor at a hospital, ASAP. He will need treatment to install a catheter so he can urinate successfully and stay overnight in a hospital to ensure he is back on track with his bathroom visits. Failure to pay this will result in Gibby struggling with infections and much worse. Thank you to anyone that donates to save my baby. I do not have any options further than posting this for his immediate care at a hospital and how urgent this procedure is and needs to be done, unfortunately.
