URGENT culvert tile repair and replacement
Donation protected
Hi my name is Susan Morey. For any of you that know me, you know that asking for help isn't something I like to do. Especially not asking for money outright. But, as they say, pride goeth before the fall. And if I don't ask for help with this project right now, I might literally fall into the creek while driving over it one day soon. I am asking for funds to help with completely replacing this culvert and reworking the fence that crosses the creek at this point. I have been given 2 different quotes on the culvert and they were between $5,000 to $6,000. I simply don't have that kind of money at this time. Or for the foreseeable future. Pretty much all of the money I make goes back into my business, Belfire Botanicals, and to feed the animals and my mortgage. If I can't cross the creek I won't be able to vend at events and my income will be zero.
This culvert tile bridge is my only way of getting onto and off of my property. I have no idea how old the pipe/tile is but it was here when we bought the house in 2018 and had been in place at least 3 years prior. We had the culvert redone in 2019 as part of a driveway repair and the person that did it didn't mention anything about the pipe needing replacement. Last year at this time, after a LOT of rain, I had someone come and take a look at repairing my driveway. He also looked at the culvert tile and advised me that it would need replacement and soon because the bottom of it had rusted out. The above pic is from 2/27/24. The sides and top of the tile on both ends have begun to crunch down. This is really scary at this point.
So, I am here asking for help. I didn't know anywhere else to turn. There are a number of projects that need attention here but the culvert is the most pressing at the moment. I appreciate any help that anyone can provide. I know times are really rough for folks now, I meet and talk to a lot of people. It's another reason I have been hesitant to come to this forum and ask for monetary help. So thank you from the bottom of my heart for any help at all, even if it's just a share of this request.
