Bringing 13 Loved Ones Urgently to Canada
Dear Supporters,
MY name is Israa I am a Palestinian Canadian living in Canada due to the very difficult situation of our family and their need for immediate help to survive, I am reaching out to you with a heartfelt plea for help in reuniting my family.
Our family is enduring an unimaginable ordeal. Since December 16, 2023, our brother has been missing in Gaza. He was last seen in the middle of Gaza, having lifted our family home in Al Shijaeia after it was bombed. In the chaos, he fled without any ID, passport, or phone, terrified and with nothing but the clothes on his back. Despite our exhaustive efforts, including contacting the Red Cross, hospitals, and refugee camps, we have been unable to find him.
This harrowing situation has taken a severe toll on our mom, who is overwhelmed with worry and despair.
We are a family of 13, including brothers, sisters, and young children (Note for the kids' privacy we will not share their photos), all longing for a chance to live a better life. Every day, we face the harsh realities of living in Gaza – the constant fear, the economic hardships, and the lack of vital necessities. Our dreams of safety and stability feel increasingly out of reach.
We are faced with numerous challenges, including navigating the complex immigration process to covering the costs of travel and resettlement.
That's why we are turning to you, our global community, for support. Your generosity can help us overcome these obstacles and bring our family back together in Canada. With your help, we can cover the fees and expenses required every step of the way – from securing necessary documents in Gaza to ensuring a smooth transition upon arrival in Canada.
Worried from abroad
No one could imagine that we would see or that so many would suffer the atrocities that our relatives and all the Palestinians are presently going through in Gaza. It has taken loved ones' lives and still poses a grave danger to our families. since the Genocide started, more than 420 person killed including kids and women from my family members
Home destroyed
The family has immensely suffered as a result of the ongoing situation in Gaza in which our loved ones' homes were completely destroyed.
Canada's Temporary Visa Program
In the midst of our frantic efforts to ensure our family's safety, we applied on January 09, 2024, for a Temporary visa. we have been granted permission to transport our immediate family members from Gaza to Canada under the Temporary visa program. At this time, the only option for them to come to Canada from Gaza is through a sponsored Temporary visa. There is no way to emphasize how serious this situation is. Every donation made to this cause has the potential to get our family to safety and refuge with some measure of hope during these trying times.
We have to provide for 13 members
As their sponsors, we will be solely responsible for paying for all of the expenses associated with getting our families to safety in Canada. We have therefore started this fundraising campaign in an effort to get support from our friends, family, and community so that we can bring her family here. We are requesting sponsorship for the stays of 13 members of our immediate family, or 5 family units, in Canada, however, the expenses are very high! to pay for their applications, transportation or time spent in Canada.
Expenses:
The projected expenses are as follows which include fees for applying for a visa, fees for a passport, flights, health certificate, and document translation.
We Paid: An estimated $5,000 for adults and $2500 for each kid spent on each person for permission to leave Gaza for Egypt with the HALA Agency. No one can cross the border without paying!!!
An estimated $2,250 will be spent on each person before they arrive in Canada.
Temporary accommodation: $175 Per Night for each family
Visa, biometric, and document processing: $240 per person
Translation documents and preparation: $145 per person
Travel and relocation: $270 per person
Furthermore, as they are unable to obtain employment under the temporary visa, we project that each family's first six months of living expenses in Canada will consist of the following:
Minimal monthly expenses for housing and rent $1,000 per week
Individual belongings and foreign health insurance $2,300
Mental Health and doctor fees for both the adults and the kids.
We continue to campaign and advocate for an immediate and permanent ceasefire as well as a humanitarian crisis plan to support all Palestinians in Gaza, even as we work to gather these monies to provide our family with some hope and immediate relief.
It's important to note that all transactions will be in US dollars, and we'll be mindful of the GoFundMe platform fees (the transaction fee: 2.9%+$0.30 USD per donation) and bank transaction charges.
The United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA) and Islamic Relief Palestine (IR) will get any extra money.
Your support gives us hope!
Thank you.
