I’m Mary, a friend of Amjad’s, and I have organized this GoFundMe so he can raise much needed funds to help his very sick child Razan evacuate, along with his family. Razan is just 7-yrs-old and doctors fear her kidney cancer is recurring. There is no cancer treatment left in Gaza, so she desperately needs to be treated abroad.
The family is truly in a race against time, and every donation, no matter the size, is greatly appreciated. All funds donated go directly to the family. Thank you!

My name is Amjad Zarruq, a 37-year-old father from Gaza. Our lives have been devastated by the ongoing conflict; we've lost our homes, jobs, and all financial security. Currently, I am taking refuge in Rafah with my family of 6, facing dire conditions.
Among us is my 7-year-old daughter, Razan, who lost her left kidney to cancer and now lives with a severely compromising immune system.
Razan has three siblings: Malak (13), Lana (12), and Mariam (1.5).
Our situation in Rafah is perilous, with no access to clean water, healthy food, and an increased risk of infectious diseases, including Hepatitis A spreading through the shelter we are living in. Razan's condition necessitates continuous medical attention and a clean environment to prevent further complications.
The garbage buildup outside the shelter
With healthcare in Gaza unable to meet Razan’s needs, especially with her chronic lymph node infections and urinary problems, it's imperative that we evacuate to Egypt for her to receive the specialized cancer treatment she desperately needs.
However, the cost of leaving Gaza and supporting my family in Egypt is beyond our current means.
This is why we are seeking $60,000 to cover the evacuation, living expenses for the next 6-months in Egypt, and Razan's treatment.
And her medical treatment is only an estimate. It is likely to be much more costly.
The breakdown is as follows:
- $16,000 for the adults ($8,000 each)
- $12,400 for the children ($3,100 each)
- $9,000 for living expenses and rent in Egypt, estimated at $1,500 per month for six months
- $20,000 for Razan's medical treatment; likely more
- $1,000 for a fast track fee at the border
- The remaining funds will cover basic needs while awaiting evacuation. This includes food, water, medical needs, and other basic needs for my family.
Your donation will not only facilitate our urgent evacuation, but also provide us with a safe haven where Razan can receive life saving medical care, and my family can have a chance at stability and recovery.
