URGENT Evacuation: out of Gaza to safety

Dear all,

I'm starting this fundraiser on behalf of my trusted friend Waleed Almasri to get his mom and his immediate family out of Gaza. Besides reuniting with his immediate family, those family members in Rafah do need urgent medical treatment that’s not available in Gaza. Haya, Waleed’s mom, suffers from multiple diseases that are recognized as disabilities in so many countries such as The UK, The Netherlands, and Germany. The only operating travel agency charges a minimum of 5k per person, so we need to collect 25k to only cover the required fees for them to step a foot out of Gaza!

The situation in Gaza is beyond catastrophic, and the suffering is beyond immense. This fundraiser aims to alleviate the pain of a small family by reuniting Haya, established architect, 45 years old, along with her immediate family with her mother Dalal, 81, and Nabil, 86.

The family was torn apart following the complete destruction of Gaza's medical facilities. Dalal and Nabil had to flee Gaza three weeks ago to seek urgent life saving medical care in Cairo, along with their grandson Waleed, who is Haya’s eldest son, to care for his grandparents on the long road trip and during their stay in Cairo.

Haya is a loving mother of four children, two girls, and two boys, Waleed, Shahed, Soha, and Kareem. She lost her home in Gaza City and, along with her immediate family, was displaced twice in the Gaza Strip. Last winter, after their forced displacement without being allowed to take any of their belongings, they were left homeless in the streets of Rafah until they managed to construct a simple tent. Haya has witnessed her loved ones fall sick one after another due to forced starvation, poor water quality, and hygiene issues. They do need urgent medical treatments for various health issues.

With your support, Haya, her three children, and her sick husband can reunite with her parents and son in Cairo, enabling her to resume her role as a caring mother and daughter.

The money will be directly transferred to the only travel agency that allows Gazans to enter Egypt, this agency is in Cairo, to pay for the entering fees of Haya, her husband Khaled, and their children Soha, Shahed, and Kareem to enter Egypt.

كما تعلمون، تدمرت اغلب غزة ومعها تدمر استقرارنا وامننا. فقدنا العديد والعديد من احباءنا وامتلأت قلوبنا بالاوجاع. هذه الحملة تسعى لتخفيف الألم عن عائلة صغيرة عن طريق لم شمل خالتو هيا، البالغة من العمر 45، بوالدتها ستي دلال، 79 عامًا، ووالدها سيدي نبيل، 86 عامًا.

تفرقت العائلة بعد تدمير كامل لمرافق الرعاية الصحية في غزة. اضطرت ستى دلال وسيدي نبيل إلى مغادرة غزة منذ ثلاثة أسابيع لتلقي العلاج الطبي العاجل غير المتوافر في القطاع ووصلوا الى القاهرة برفقة حفيدهما وليد ابن خالتو هيا.

خالتو هيا هي أم لأربعة أبناء، اثنين من الأولاد واثنتين من البنات، سهى وشهد، وليد وكريم. فقدت الاسرة منزلها في مدينة غزة ونزحوا مرتين داخل القطاع. في الشتاء الماضي، قضوا اياما بلا مأوى في شوارع رفح الى ان تمكنوا من بناء خيمة مؤقتة، ما زالوا بها. شهدت خالتو هيا أحبائها يمرضون تباعًا بسبب الجوع القسري وسوء جودة المياه، تقضي كل اوقاتها في القلق على ابويها الغائبين وتمريض والعناية بأسرتها المشردة.
