URGENT Non-potable toilet H2O for families in Western NC

We are a local neighborhood-formed flush water task force. City water may take an additional 3-6 weeks to resume service.

There is a desperate need for easily accessible non-potable, flush water/toilet water in neighborhoods across Asheville and Western North Carolina.

Toilets can take around 2.5 GALLONS of water to flush and there isn’t enough non-potable water available in walking distance of homes. The lack of sanitary conditions and smell of an un-flushed toilet over time is unimaginably putrid. People have no choice but to use drinking water to flush toilets which creates greater risk of drinking water shortages, which can lead to health problems and dehydration risk.

Our task force has already personally paid for and distributed 52 containers that hold 275 gallons of non-potable water to communities in need, but the need is far greater.

We need financial support to bring in 50 additional containers and spigots for easy bucket refill. Each container and spigot costs around $300 to purchase, transport, and set in place in communities.

Please consider helping a resident-led effort to provide non-potable water to every neighborhood struggling to maintain sanitary bathroom conditions for their families, children, churches, and neighbors.

We are Asheville residents helping Asheville and WNC neighborhoods. 100% of money raised will go to purchasing water tanks and distributing them to communities.
