Urgent Funds for “JK”, Jim Kingsbury’s Medical Travel

here is an update on JK…he is now on life support and this is from one of his daughters

Hi everyone. We have been put in a very terrible position. My father is stuck in Mexico needing life-saving treatment. Unfortunately the healthcare system here is much different than it is in the United States and they need money upfront prior to doing any procedures / treatments. We are trying to get him out of Mexico and into the United States system, but unfortunately he is so medically unstable this has been very difficult to do.

Even sharing this post, would mean the world to me.

Although I have not read what the GoFundMe says ( my sister’s friend made it) I will give you a little background of what happened.

My father was on vacation here in Mexico and had a strangulated hernia. He had to have emergency surgery, which resolved this problem, but unfortunately had a perforated bowel after being released from the hospital. This caused fecal matter to leak into peritoneal cavity. He had a second emergency surgery, which they removed 2 L of fecal matter. Unfortunately, after the surgery, my father went into septic shock, started having kidney failure, his blood pressure dropped so low that they had to insert a central line and he had to be intubated. Following the intubation, he went into cardiac arrest, where they completed chest compressions on him, and we were able to bring him back to life. Now we are trying to solve different problems as they keep arising. He’s is in absolute critical condition. We ask for your prayers and thoughts.

For anyone who knows my dad JK personally knows that he’s a tough man and loves life. He is a real trooper but he needs support.

Hi my name is Holli Bicker. My best friends husband, Tim Hafling called and asked if I could help develop a go fund me for a close friend of his, a friend to all that has ever had the pleasure of meeting him, so of course I was more than happy to help. Tim was contacted today by “JK”s youngest son, James, who informed him that while his parents were vacationing together in Puerto Vallarta this week, JK had a medical emergency that started with a ruptured hernia. He was rushed to the hospital and emergency surgery was performed to help repair the damage. While in surgery, other complications presented & they had to remove part of his colon. JK has since become septic and today sadly he had a heart attack. JK is very ill but is fighting and hanging on. JK (James Kingsbury) is 67 and has 3 children who are desperate to get their father back home to get the care he needs as well as be by his side and provide support to their mom, Kay. So far the family has maxed out all their credit cards and has exhausted all their liquid assets just to pay the hospital. With that being said, to get JK home they are telling the family it will be upwards of $50,000 just for travel and he will continue to need additional medical interventions. If you know the family, or are able to donate in any way, any amount, we know the family would be more than grateful. JK is a wonderful man who is always so giving to anyone he knows.
