Urgent Funds Needed for Anne's Aftercare
Donation protected
Hello, my name is Shelley Hunt. I am raising funds to help pay for the surgery my Turkish mother, Anne, has just had. She was in surgery for 6 and a half hours while surgeons fixed a huge hernia that had invaded her intestines.
I know money is short, but consider this—if she is to heal, she needs peace. There is no way to make payments in Turkey. If we had said that we could not afford her surgery, they would have STOPPED MID-SURGERY, sewed her up and sent her home to die. It's not a kind and friendly place.
I tried to raise money for this at an earlier time, before it became a screaming emergency (with real screaming, the pain was terrible), but was unsuccessful.
Anne calls me her daughter, and it is my honor to call her mother. She is a kind, good woman. I met her and her daughter, Hulya, and her son, Levent, through a friend who spends summers in Turkey. We talk on the phone in my very broken Turkish. Merhaba, canim, nasilsin? And so on.
Please, can you help? I am worried sick, because aftercare is very important after surgery, and she will be denied hers. Anne is the heart of this little family since her husband died from a stroke almost two years ago.
Please, find it in yourself to give, and if you can't give, please shave this with others on Facebook and other platforms.
