Help us survive the famine and war in Gaza

Hello , I'm Nada from Houston. We've launched this GoFundMe campaign to assist Dalia Fouad's husband in safely bringing his family to Egypt through the Rafah border and reuniting them.
Dalia is my friend from Gaza; she is a math teacher and also skilled in embroidery. Before the war, she was leading a hopeful and ambitious life; her husband Ibrahim, a civil engineer, was on the verge of completing his master's degree. She dreamt of a bright future for herself and her three wonderful children: Diala, aged seven, and the twins Hamza and Hala, aged five.
Dalia reflects, The tangible losses pale in comparison to the intangible ones, like memories that can never be compensated for and are mercilessly erased. The echoes of laughter, shared moments, and the warmth of our homes have vanished, leaving behind a painful void of destruction.
We endured bombing, displacement, and a shortage of basic resources. We did everything possible to survive, yet the suffering seems endless, and hope diminishes day by day. We sought refuge in tents, enduring freezing cold and rain. Even in a UN school, we were not safe from the ravages of war. Everyone suffered from food shortages, a lack of medicine, and insanely high prices for essential necessities.
Many were killed, and many more were injured before our eyes as we struggled to find something to satisfy our hunger.
The children suffered severe psychological distress from the sounds they heard—fear, panic, explosions, scenes of death, and bloodshed.
My husband's father, a retired teacher from a UN-affiliated institution, dedicated his life to educating his children and Gaza's youth. After retirement, he invested his savings in building a beautiful home for the family.
My husband, our children, and I lived in an apartment within this beautiful home. Since the war began, we had to leave our home, hoping to return within a month, but sadly, the war destroyed everything. It wiped out my husband's company, leaving him unemployed and his education uncertain. Even the home he and his father built with love fell victim to the harsh reality of war, demolished just two years after construction. We were left homeless.
My husband's family is still in the northern part of the Gaza Strip, suffering like many others from bombing, displacement, and widespread destruction, risking their lives to obtain aid. They have resorted to eating grass and ground animal feed to make bread.
This is war—where the prices of medicine, food, and everything else skyrocket, making it incredibly challenging to meet basic needs. The lack of water makes bathing and hygiene extremely difficult, resulting in respiratory diseases due to the use of paper and wood fires for cooking and heating.
The skyrocketing rents for apartments that already do not contain any furniture or basic necessities have made life even more difficult.
Bushra (my husband's sister), a second-year computer science student, saw all her dreams of completing her education fade away. Mohammed, a master's student, had many ambitions and dreams, but they all vanished. My husband's elderly parents are struggling greatly in these tough circumstances, unable to cope with the pressure and instability.
Ahmed, his wife, and their three children live in the midst of a harsh reality. His little daughter was born during the bombing, amidst the sounds of explosions and the dust of destroyed homes. This baby, who is now eight months old, has known nothing of the world but fear and conflict. It is the beginning of a life in circumstances beyond description, where hope faces severe challenges every day.
We are striving to get them out of Gaza as soon as possible.
Despite these challenges, we have not lost hope. We believe in the power of solidarity and mutual assistance, knowing that kindness still resides in people's hearts.
It's difficult for Dalia to ask for help because they're accustomed to meeting all their needs through their own hard work. But the amount required to support the family and facilitate their exit from Gaza is not small. We will persist and seek support, knowing that better days await us if we remain steadfast and resilient.
Your support, no matter how small, can make a difference.
Please share Dalia's family story on social media, via email, and within your networks. The more people who know about this campaign, the closer we come to achieving our goal.
This is her story—the story of a family that refused to despair and continues to struggle for a better future for their children.
