Urgent Generator Replacement for Our Family
Donation protected
Hello, World!
So, well, let's just say 2024 ended with a whimper.
On January 30th, the generator to our little off grid home died a most untimely, and tragic end. Andy, my husband, and all-around brilliant house-wizard discovered the coil had burned up after the generator stopped putting out any amps. Luckly the generator didn't catch fire, so the generator shed, and the house are fine. The generator, however, is toast.
While most of our power is supplied by our solar panels the generator runs our deep well water pump. We also use the generator to charge our deep cycle batter, top off our smaller battery banks, if needed. and run the washing machine. At this point we have a few more days of storage water and then we will be out. We are a family of four with a dog, 4 cats, and a small poultry flock so we need to get the generator replaced as quickly as possible. Our son is a kidney transplant recipient, and we need to maintain sanitary standards in order to keep him healthy as well.
We are looking to raise around 1,400 to replace the dead generator with a larger one that will give us a better load capacity and avoid this happening again. I have put a fundraising goal of 2,000 and would like to use any remaining funds toward any expenses that might arise in the process.
Okay, so that's all for now. I'll be back with updates!
