First Responder family's Home Crisis
Donation protected
This young family welcomed their baby girl into the world but instead of enjoying their time together as a family they have a difficult path ahead of them.
Alex, a new fireman in Hernando County, recently married his high school sweetheart. With a baby on the way, Alex and Kierstyn began their search for a home to raise their child and begin life together as a family. Due to rising home prices the search was quite difficult but they managed to find a home that seemed too good to be true, within their price range.
A few months after the purchase of their home, the roof the seller just replaced failed. Water from the many Florida rains poured into the home between the walls and leaked into the home in more than 9 places. This caused the floors to warp in the baby's room, bathroom and dining room with damage continuing to spread. A door to one of the rooms had to be removed because the floor had warped to the point it could not be opened. They called for an inspection and the results were horrifying. Mold has now started and the home is not livable with a one-day old baby girl. The infrared images brought everyone to tears when they realized Kierstyn and Alex spent all of their money on this mobile home, a place they settled into to welcome their new baby into the world, and now they have to move in with relatives.
It is estimated to cost approximately 50k for legal fees to go after the seller and recover their losses which includes 15k for the down payment, closing costs and improvements they have made since they have been in this home.
If you find in your heart to help this family in need, we will forever be indebted to your kindness. Any donation is greatly appreciated.
