Help Luisa Fight Against Cancer: A Call for Compassion

Lifting Up Luisa - Support for a Family in Need:
Our family in Venezuela has just delivered the devastating news that my beloved mom has been diagnosed with pancreatic cancer. Due to the ongoing crisis in Venezuela and her age, she does not have insurance. My brother and I have been covering her medical expenses as much as we can, but the financial burden of what's ahead is overwhelming. We urgently need your help to fund her surgery, treatments, and our eventual return to Venezuela. We are deeply grateful for any contributions and support you can offer to help Luisa through this challenging time.

Additional Background:
Since 2015, my brother and I have been calling the United States home after being awarded international scholarships to study music. We've been dedicated to supporting our family and spreading joy through our music in the communities we've been fortunate to be a part of. During this time, we've had the privilege to meet and collaborate with incredible people from around the world. It has been a true blessing to connect with so many cultures through our shared love of music.
However, amidst our journey, our beloved mother, back in Venezuela, has been quietly battling a serious illness. Recently, we received the heartbreaking news that our mom has pancreatic cancer, which has spread to the biliary system duct. Without insurance, my brother and I have been covering the costs of her tests, medications, and medical procedures as much as we can. The situation in Venezuela makes it incredibly difficult for the elderly to obtain insurance unless they had it before the current economic crisis. Due to the political instability and ongoing protests, even traveling for care is fraught with danger. While the medical care available in Venezuela is excellent, accessing it is another challenge entirely, and the costs are steep.
Unfortunately, we are unable to afford the costs of the surgery, chemotherapy, and ongoing care that our mother desperately needs. The estimated cost for her surgery, chemotherapy, and the necessary follow-up care—including an endoscopy every six months to monitor her progress—amounts to $50,000. Additionally, my brother and I need to travel to Venezuela to be with her during this difficult time, which will impact our ability to earn the income needed to support her ongoing care.
We are humbly reaching out to you for assistance. Any donation, no matter the size, would mean the world to us. Your support will help us ensure that our mother receives the critical treatment she needs. We also ask for your prayers during this time of hardship. Thank you so much for any and all support.
If we are fortunate enough to exceed our fundraising goal, any remaining funds after covering all of our mother’s treatment and recovery costs will be donated to cancer charities to help others facing similar challenges and to support the ongoing search for a cure.
