Help an Unhoused Mother and Daughter Rebuild Their Lives

Dear Friends, Family, and Kind Strangers,

I am reaching out today with an urgent plea for help. My dear friend & former business partner, a devoted mother and her daughter are facing an incredibly challenging time. Their story is one of resilience, love, and an urgent need for support to get back on their feet.

For the past 6 months Brooke has been doing everything in her power to provide a safe and stable environment. Despite her best efforts, She and Megan have found themselves homeless, relying on temporary motel stays to have a roof over their heads. They are both tirelessly seeking employment and housing since the recent loss of her retail space that contained her flower shop for almost a decade, but the current circumstances have made it an uphill battle.

Brookes plight began when she met a man on Christian mingle, fell in love & eventually married him. She truly thought He loved her & her daughter but ultimately controlled & manipulated her, leaving her without access to their money & resources. She has bravely escaped the toxic relationship but now faces significant obstacles in rebuilding her life as when she decided to leave the relationship, her husband unfortunately became extremely vindictive, & committed several acts of cruelty against brooke & her daughter, he had them evicted from their shared residence, shut off the electricity to the business, intentionally negatively impacted her credit & even cancelled her shared health insurance, amount other things. These acts eventually led to the loss of her cherished flower shop & critical medical coverage. Brooke, who suffers from epilepsy & a brain malformation has been without the necessary healthcare support, making their situation even more precarious.

To add to her struggles, she has had to take countless Ubers to the Orange County courthouse in her fight to get a divorce, draining what little resources she has left. Unfortunately, due to bureaucratic complications and the stigma often attached to such situations, she has been unable to receive the assistance she so desperately needs. Along with that her cell phone was stolen last month & not only did the thieves hack her personal accounts, But were sadly also able to get a hold of of a handful of customer credit card information stored within the portal for her business, they committed fraud on a few of her cherished, loyal clients resulting in her having to give refunds out of her own pocket as well as damage her long, good standing reputation within the community.

Adding to their distress, their cherished belongings, including sentimental items, essential household goods not to mention inventory that they had hoped to sell are about to be auctioned off due to unpaid storage fees. They already lost all of their belongings once to a fire and can’t let it happen again. They only have until the end of the day today to raise $1,200 to keep the storage from being auctioned off and all of their belongings from being gone forever.

ASAP we need to raise emergency funds needed to cover the following urgent needs;

Immediate Storage Fees: Prevent their belongings from being auctioned off today, preserving their personal and sentimental items.

Housing Stability: Provide funds for a security deposit and initial rent payments for a stable and safe home.

Basic Necessities: Ensure they have access to food, clothing, and other essentials during this transition period.

Healthcare Costs: Help cover medical expenses for the mother's epilepsy treatment.

Job Search Support: Assist with transportation, and other costs associated with finding stable employment.
