Urgent Help for Displaced Atlanta Artists of MINT

As one of the artists who were recently displaced due to the abrupt closure of MINT gallery and studios in Atlanta, GA, many of us are left in a state of flux to find new spaces last minute. This has created a serious financial burden due to non-return of August rent and security deposits. Many of us working artists with ongoing projects have suffered at this mismanagement of resources by the board.

On 8/9, we were alerted by Sheriffs placing a notice on the doors of MINT of unpaid 3 month's rent. The evening of 8/9, we were informed by the board that all artists would need to vacate the premises in 15 days. Another email soon followed and shortened that time span to 8 days. This has created a panic amongst working artists who need space for their practices and project commitments they have made.

Rent that was paid for August has yet to be returned and we are fearful that our security deposits have been lost. A total of 16 artists have been affected and we are calling on the community for help. Moving expenses, security deposits for our future art spaces are needed.
