Urgent Help for JoAnne Kirk's Family Needs

Hi, my name is JoAnne Kirk of Huntsville Alabama. I am fundraising for my family. We have fallen on very hard times. My husband Rick is a retired Police Officer and newly certified Fire Fighter has been in the hospital ICU twice in the last 6 weeks for double pneumonia. He is getting worse, it has been touch and go daily for the last week. Somehow his lungs have been damaged and is not responding to medications or oxygen therapy. We are now being told he will be in the ICU for the next several weeks and may not leave the hospital until the end of November.

We live paycheck to paycheck. He has not worked in several weeks. I have worked a little because of being at the hospital. My job is in jeopardy because of calling off to be at the hospital talking with doctors and helping take care of my husband. We are about to be disconnected for utilities, cell phone and internet because of lack of money. What money comes in goes to bills and some food. I have had to decide between food and bills. I have two teenage boys who eat a lot. I have gotten nothing but red tape and turn downs for help from different agencies.

We are going to get stuck with most of these hospital bills because my husband does not have the best health insurance. We are looking at several thousands of dollars. But, the urgency is to keep services on, get food and medications when my husband finally comes home. I know it is the holiday season and money is tight for everyone. But, if someone can help us it will take some of the stress off of us all. Thank you
