Health Crisis Leaves Me Devastated

Donation protected
Hello, my name is Lydia. A few weeks ago, I had to be rushed by ambulance to the emergency room at Hennepin County Medical Center. There, after having several MRIs to my head, I was diagnosed with a blood clot in my brain. The Chief Surgeon of the department wanted me to have immediate surgery, and they scheduled me for an operation 3 days later. I expressed that this was too big of a decision to make and that I needed some time to get my affairs in order. I expressed my concerns over inadequate treatment and misdiagnosis, and finally, after getting a patient advocate involved, conditions for me got a little better. But other stressors were causing me to have chest pains and an inability to sleep. It seemed to me that the more I shared my feelings with certain intern doctors and nurses (the care team) and the moment I expressed feeling pressure way too much way to soon to the patient advocate office things began to change. Both for the good and bad, and sadly the more they were trying to coerce me into committing to a date to have the brain surgery I still requested time (and was assured by the Chief Surgeon) that I could take the time needed to put things in place. Eventually, this all resulted in on-call doctors whom I never met discharging me on that Sunday afternoon in below-freezing temperatures with nothing but my slippers on, hospital scrubs, and no safe home to return to and no proper medicine. This was when, only 24 hours prior, the Chief Surgeon said that if I didn't have the brain surgery, the potential for me to have a stroke and/or seizures was a real risk and that death would follow.

I got taken to a hotel by a member of my family, and I've been living in them since while apartment searching. I have told much of this story on Facebook and very openly expressed each and every feeling and emotion I've had during this ordeal. Over $2,500.00 funds I had set aside to be able to move into my new apartment have been exhausted by having to pay over $125. a night to stay in a safe hotels and purchase food for survival. I need to be able to secure funds back to be able to move into an apartment once I've identified one that can meet my medical needs. I appreciate any help towards reaching that goal if your heart guides you to contribute any amount. This is hard for me. I've never asked for myself. I've asked for many others in the past as well as given. I can only pray that those of you with anything left to spare will help me in my time of need. May God bless you for your kindness in advance. Much Love~Lydia
