"Where words fail, music speaks." - Hans Christian Andersen
And alot of the music have started to become dull painful noises of the day to day struggles to keep going, and finding the will to live.
Hi my name Is Matt Fischer. I and my wonderful partner are disabled freelance artist. We bought our first house together in November 2022. And since the moment we had the keys in our hands we tried desperately to talk to the City of Hazel Park, DTE and Xfinity to come and help take care of the grape vines on the lines directly next to our house. Unfortunately last night August 27th,2024 there was a horrible storm that led to the transformer on the power lines wrapped up in these exact grapevines caught fire. Not only did it strike our house directly. It caught spots of our back Yard, fence and roof on fire. We also support our 2 roommates who have a 2 year old child. All of us plus our kitty is safe. But all of us are without very important life saving medication that is in the house. On top of this the same day our van had to go into the shop and requiring $1700 in repairs... So now we are with out a home and a vehicle for the time bening.... we both suffer from physical and Immuno compromised disorders, C-PTSD, Depression and Anxiety which has led to severe burn out for the past few years. We have been fighting to stay financially sound. We both try to sell our art for extra money, as well as running errands for others, but not neither is possible at the moment. We desperately need help. Even with working with our therapist, everything seems like a neverending battle to just stay alive. ...
The removal of the tree's and grapevines were Quoted between 2k-3k buy several companies.
Medication in the household between the 4 adults is well over 3k
Van repairs is 1700
Currently a hotel for 4 nights that accepts pets is
$600 but I have no clue how much longer we will need.
We have no idea when the insurance is able to kick in. If you would like to help contribute to help cut down the grapevines, living expenses, van repairs, new medicine. Any amount would be greatly appreciated. Please hope and pray that all remain safe as we try to navigate through this time.
Update in the house:
Luckily so far the only super major damage that we can see was done outside nearing the window and the Ac unit taking a direct hit and part of grass that caught fire. Power is back on but now I'm having ptsd just being in my own room... so now we're in a hotel till Friday to try to calm down and relax.
All money being donated is going to cover the cost of removing the rest of the grape vines since DTE half assed took down the bare minimum but there is still a metric fuck ton attached to our house via a line.... also with the car still needing repairs I have to pay for rides to work and such... I'm very VERY grateful we got as lucky as we did. Insurance will hopefully come out and look at the roof just in case. we Very scared if another storm hits because of how close our house is to the transformer.... Hopefully we can get these grape vines down soon...
