Urgent Help for Wael And His Family Living in Gaza

FOLLOW THIS GOFUNDME for updates on Wael's situation and what we achieve with YOUR donations!

Hello, fellow kind people!

I am Iasmina, a student trying to urgently raise funds for Wael Jabal Rajab Tamraz and his family, who all have been enduring horrible, increasingle difficult times in Gaza ever since October 7th. Your donation can help Wael support his family and access goods such as medicine (e.g. for diabetes) or food, whose prices have rocketed due to the general economical, sanitary, humanitarian crisis caused by the occupation. Wael's former GoFundMe page has ceased to be working and this has been a great burden since crucial days have passed without any money at all being gathered to ease his situation.

I met Wael through Instagram a few months ago, at which time he was struggling to recover the funds from his GoFundMe campaign. Unfortunately, Wael and I were unable to reach the organizer of his original campaign to help him recover the account and funds raised there. Therefore, we decided to launch this new campaign in the hopes of raising those funds again, sharing Wael’s story more widely, and keeping donors updated on Wael and his family’s well-being.

In the months since I have known Wael, he has been injured in at least two airstrikes, endured long periods of not eating for up to eight days, and suffered from back pain associated with carrying water long distances to his family. His mother suffers from diabetes, and Wael struggles to raise money regularly for her insulin injections, which currently cost around $100-$150 per injection. With the crossings closed for two months now, Wael and his family are forced to pay astronomical prices for whatever goods are available in the Strip, with almost no aid flowing into Gaza these days.

The most pressing need is to help Wael and his family survive the current situation, so the money donated during the closure of the crossings and the resale of aid at higher prices will go directly to daily survival needs and medication. Once the crossings reopen, Wael and his family hope to be able to evacuate. At a cost of between $5,000 and $7,000 per person, this is a very large sum of money that they will need to save to evacuate the entire family. Wael hopes that at that point he will also be able to raise money to complete his studies and rebuild his life. All funds will be transferred to Wael via international bank transfer.

We truly appreciate your support in our efforts to help Wael and his family. Please consider donating or participating in our campaign, and we welcome you to reach out to me if you have any questions!

Please, take a moment to read Wael's story through his own words and get to know him better before sending him a donation.

''My name is Wael, and I'm from Gaza, Palestine. Until the 7th of October 2023, my world revolved around studying for high school and dreaming of becoming an engineer at the university. Then, war tore through Gaza. I watched in horror as bombs destroyed schools and universities, including the one where I hoped to study. My own education was cut short, and my family's home was lost in the bombings.

Despite these hardships, I haven't given up on my dreams. That's why I'm reaching out for your help. I need to evacuate my family from the dangers of war and continue my education. With your support, I can rebuild my future and achieve my ambitions.''

The immediate priority is to support Wael and his family in surviving the ongoing crisis. Donations received during the closure of border crossings, when aid is scarce and sold at inflated prices, will be used for essential needs like food, medicine, and daily survival. Once the crossings reopen, Wael and his family hope to evacuate. However, the costs are usually immense and difficult to access without donations, calculated per person.

We are deeply grateful for your support in helping Wael and his family. Please consider DONATING or SHARING this campaign, and feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
