Hi, my name is Victoria. I created this fundraiser to help my friends, Hazem's family; here is their story:
My name's Hazem, I'm 34 year's old, I live in wounded Gaza. I have 4 children. I had my own business, which was completely destroyed by the Israeli Occupation. Before the seventh of October, we had life, but after that life died. I lost my home for the first time on the 2014 war , and I was at the beginning of my marriage. Unfortunately, it was bombed by the Israeli Occupation.
The moment we are forcibly left our home in the thirteenth of October, it was as if the soul left our bodies. We were safe in our home, and suddenly on 13th of October, my children were ready to go to school but suddenly we heard terrifying bombing sounds.
It has been 7 months since the war and we are living in agony, pain, loss and the bitterness of life. The children of Gaza spent childhood. My children and all the children of Gaza have been deprived of the most basic rights, including education, while all the children of the world go to their schools, also the children of Gaza suffer from hunger, thirst and fatigue. The war has taken them to anew school which called the school of misery, injustice, fatigue and wasted childhood.
Moving from place to another under the bomb and fear are very difficult and hard. Unfortunately I lost many members of my family, and my wife's family.
What we're living nowadays is hard to understand. Getting or having water is a hard mission, for example my brother in law and the children have to fill the water tank from the mosque and walking for more than 2 kilometres to finally reach the place where we live.
Living in a small and a dark place with a large number of people in the same place for eating, drinking, praying, washing, and bathing is very hard. We can't have a shower whenever we want to do this, just every 10 days on the municipal day. About the washing, the women are washing machine.
This is a simple glimpse that express a little of a difficult and painful reality. If I and my family have another chance to survive and try to build a better future for my children, please help us go to another place that is safer and more stable. Please help us to travel to another city and to start a new life.
