Update: In Memory of Aurora

Dear Friends,

We have some heartbreaking news to share. Despite the significant progress Aurora made thanks to your generous donations, last night, her condition suddenly worsened, and within an hour, she passed away peacefully. This loss has shattered our hearts.

Aurora's improvement over the past few days had been incredible. She became active, playful, and started eating and enjoying her toys again. We even began discussing her future treatment plans with her doctor and when she could come home. Sadly, we didn't get to bring her home.

Aurora lived a short but very happy life of only four years. She brought us immense love and support every single day. In her memory, we have decided to regularly donate blood and spread awareness about its importance. Hopefully, this will help save the lives of other dogs and cats one day.

We are immensely grateful for the kindness and support from all of you. Your contributions gave her at least a chance to fight, receive the best medical care and leave this world without pain. We will use the donations to cover her veterinary bills and cremation expenses.

With heartfelt gratitude,
Tamara

Dear Friends,

I am urgently reaching out to you for financial assistance for my beloved dog, Aurora, a 4-year-old Bernese Mountain Dog currently in critical condition at the Veterinary Hospital of the University of Bern. She has been diagnosed with severe anemia and internal bleeding, and requires immediate treatment and diagnostics to survive.

Without urgent intervention, she faces the risk of bleeding out or succumbing to anemia. Aurora has already received a blood transfusion, but to continue her treatment, we urgently need to provide a deposit of 2500 CHF with additional further treatment estimated at approximately 5000 CHF.

Aurora and I arrived in Switzerland from Ukraine in 2022, escaping the devastation of war and bombings that destroyed parts of our home. Last year, I battled ovarian cancer, and Aurora was my constant source of strength, providing me with the motivation to fight through five surgeries and six rounds of chemotherapy. Her presence was my reason to keep going. She is not just a pet; she is my family, my baby girl.

Due to my ongoing recovery, I am temporarily unable to work and rely on social assistance, receiving 498 CHF per month, a portion of which is allocated to essential expenses. Aurora has always been healthy and active, trained even as a therapy dog for special needs children before the war. She is a fighter, and I believe she deserves every chance at life. It breaks my heart that I cannot afford her care independently right now, but I am committed to doing everything possible to ensure her recovery. Now it's my time to fight for her. I promised her that we would swim again in Lake Thun and hike in the mountains together, and I believe in her recovery, strength and resilience

If you can support us during this desperate time, any contribution would mean the world to us.
Your generosity and compassion could help save Aurora's life.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts.
