Urgent Help Needed for Mother of 3 from Ukraine
Donation protected
On March 18, 2024, our dear volunteer, Olga Demyanchuk was hit by an SUV as she crossed a marked crosswalk while walking her 6-year-old daughter to school. Olga saved her child by pushing her out of the way, but now she is in the hospital, awaiting surgery and facing a long road to recovery. The child witnessed the accident and was found crying over her mother when witnesses came to help.
Olga's family is in dire need of support. They recently arrived in Canada in December 2022, and with only Olga's husband, Mykhailo, working, the financial strain is overwhelming. The family has three school-aged children as well as Olga’s mother and grandmother in their care, the situation is incredibly challenging. Both of Olga’s arms and hands were broken as well as other serious injuries which will limit her mobility for quite some time.
Mykhailo needs to be by his wife's side during this critical time, meaning he won't be able to work full time and provide all that is needed for his family. We're reaching out to our community to ask for your help in supporting this family through this difficult period.
Please consider donating to their GoFundMe page to alleviate their financial burden and show them that they're not alone in this situation. Every contribution will make a difference. Let's come together and support Olga and her family during this challenging time. Olga has volunteered for the FreeStore for over one year and the Store’s founders and managers have been to the hospital to help where they can and can answer any questions you may have.
Thank you for your generosity and kindness.
