Urgent Help Needed for Higgins' Life-Saving Surgery
Donation protected
In November 2023, my husband Mike rescued two abandoned cats, including a little orange kitten named Higgins, from our street. Despite initial health issues (a terrible case of Bordetella, malnourishment, and both male cats needed to be neutered), we've fallen in love with both cats. However, Higgins' playful “orange cat” nature has led to a serious problem. At some point over the last several days, while we were out of town, Higgins got into something (we don’t know what yet) that led to a foreign body obstruction in his intestines requiring immediate emergency surgery.
We're grateful to Dr. Griffith at VCA Half Moon Bay for offering a reduced rate for the surgery, but we still need help covering the costs. Every little bit counts in saving Higgins' life. If you can't contribute financially, please share this fundraiser with fellow animal lovers.
Total Cost for Higgins' Emergency Surgery: $4,202.14
$360.39: Emergency consultation & IV fluids at SAGE Emergency Vet Center
$691.75: Abdominal x-ray study & consultation at VCA HMB
$3,150-$3,570: Abdominal surgery, sedation, IV fluids, medications
Your support will help us save Higgins' life - for the second time.
Thank you for reading and considering this fundraiser. We, The Schauer Family and sweet little Higgins, the roadside warrior kitten, appreciate your kindness.
