Urgent Help Needed for Nacho's Recovery

Tax deductible
Nacho is a special kitten. He was rescued at Serrias Mexican restaurant in Arab. He was dumped at the dumpsters and left around trash & old cooking oil. The smell was horrendous! He was left with no family, no siblings, no mom, or caretakers. A customer Mandy reached out and notified me he was there. I responded immediately. I had to trap him to get him, you can find that video on pur FB rescue page. He was hissing at first but by the time he got his bath he realized I was there to help him and began to cuddle and love on me. We were hoping to get him strength up. His foster mom Leah is so in love with him. He often napped on her chest. She can tell you how special he is. He has touched all our hearts. He was still very weak. Even after a week of being in rescue he is still pooping dead worms. He was being eaten by parasites inside and out.

Thinking he was getting better, his appetite had increased, no more fleas, or alive worms, we thought he was on the road to recovery until Leah came home to find his lifeless body under the bed. He had pooped all over himself, his gums were white as snow, his pupils were dilated, and he had zero response.

I gave a couple of cc's of fluids and took off to the ER vet in Huntsville at 1:30am thinking they were going to tell me he is too far gone. He was going into cardiac arrest, gasping for air, clutching, and twitching.

I told them if he had a chance to please please save him. He deserves to know what a good loving happy life is. All he's ever known is misery and suffering. Much to my surprise they thought there was a chance so the next chapter begins.

His body temp was so low at first it didn't even read. When it finally did give a reading it was 92, by 5am it was up to 101.

His heart rate was 60, later that morning it was 120. They started a 26 gauge catherter in his chest of dextrose and fluids to get his glucose up and hydration. I thought if he makes it, this is nothing shy of a miracle. Many on my Facebook joined with our rescue in prayer for little Nacho!

I just got an update, he is actually sitting up and eating on his own. The power of prayer is at work here! We are not completely out of the woods. They are taking him off the dextrose fluids to see if his body can regulate his glucose on his own. I feel he is going to make it and I've made arrangements with my vet to have him transported to my local vet in Arab. Dr. Lauren at Westside is amazing and has given me the green light if he needs further treatment. The cost of the ER vet is astronomical and we need help saving him please! I promise he is so sweet and truly deserve the love he's never had.

For one night his bill will run between $830 to $1350 is what I'm expected to pay just there and that's if he leaves in the morning. We are a small tiny rescue and while some tell me I should have him euthanized and move on, I feel these tiny lives who've been abandoned, discarded like trash, and left alone deserve to know what love is. As it turns out via employee he had been out there for a month, in front of a parking lot. People saw him and walked by as if they didn't care until Mandy spotted him. He's come this far. Please consider any amount big or small to save his precious life. You can follow his story for updates on our Facebook page. Please please remember to share. The more you share, the better chance we have. Idk for sure the outcome yet or of he will need another night but I'm hopeful enough people see this and care to help even just a little!
