Urgent Help Needed for Nephew with End Stage Renal Disease

My nephew Alex is in a dire situation. He has been battling type 1 diabetes since childhood, and now, at the young age of 33, he is in End Stage Renal Disease (ESRD) due to kidney failure. Alex also suffers from diabetic retinopathy, which causes his vision to fluctuate, making daily life even more challenging as he goes through spells of blindness. His hallucinations from the toxins have dramatically increased this past week. Being out in the heat and not able to drink anything is making it worse.

Since November 2023, Alex has been waiting for SSI benefits, but he has yet to receive any support. This delay has left him without shelter, as no facilities will accept him due to the necessity of dialysis three times a week. His father, Chad, is doing everything he can to care for Alex, but they are both living on the streets. Chad pushes Alex around in his wheelchair to get him to his medical appointments and wherever else they need to go.

Chad is struggling to find work that allows him to care for Alex, so they have no income. If they could get a van, it would provide them with some shelter and stability until the SSI benefits come through and they can secure housing. Alex's health is deteriorating rapidly, and Chad feels helpless watching his son suffer.
